TTS Top 5 Sports Movies
There is nothing like a great sports movie…the thrill, the roller coaster of emotions, the teamwork and lessons learned along the way. While the top five movies could be debated for eternity (and in this office, we certainly have), the TTS team in “The Nook” (located in the central, north side of the TTS office), narrowed it down to the top five sports movies of all time. Check them out:
5 – Hoosiers
Got to love when an underdog thrives! When a tiny hometown high school basketball team makes teamwork and redemption a goal, you will succeed. Second chances always feel so good!
4 – The Mighty Ducks
Speaking of second chances, when a Minnesota lawyer is sentenced to community service coaching a youth hockey team, who knew where that would lead him! This movie just goes to show that if you are persistent, dedicated to your work, and respect your team, nothing will stand in your way!
3 – Rocky (1976)
A classic. With some self-respect, passion, and when you are driven to exceed expectations, nothing can stop you! “It ain’t how hard you hit; it’s about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done.”
2 – Sandlot
If you’re an 80s/90s baby, you will truly appreciate this baseball classic. It just never gets old… “You’re killing me Smalls!” “Some lady named Ruth, Baby Ruth.” “L-7 weenie.” I mean…. so many good lines. This team creates a fun, positive atmosphere and definitely values all voices! Teamwork brings them together and on a touching adventure!
1 – Remember the Titans
This football movie has a way of touching your heart and soul. So many emotions, ups and downs; facing racism, adversity, drama within the team and with fans, it puts the team to the test. You learn so many life lessons from this movie. Change is the key to success, learn from the past and history and don’t repeat those mistakes, cut out toxic people in your life, and “ain’t no mountain high enough”. Chase your dreams and make them a reality!
Our office honorable mentions that didn’t quite make the top five include the masterpieces that are Secretariat, The Blind Side, Bring it On and Happy Gilmore. All in all, these movies make us laugh, cry and wake up wanting to be the best versions of ourselves. These films are a must watch for everyone!
