General Job Overview:

We are a growing company seeking a diligent IT specialist to take care of all our IT needs. You will be responsible for installing and upgrading components, setting up software, assisting with network administration, and resolving all IT support issues.

To be successful as an IT specialist, you should have an in-depth knowledge of various computer hardware and software technologies. Ideal candidates will also possess a friendly demeanor and a talent for providing excellent customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Technical Support: Provide technical assistance to users experiencing hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical problems with computer systems, hardware, software, and network components.
  • System Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance tasks, including software updates, system backups, and antivirus scans.
  • User Training: Educate users on best practices and new technologies to improve their efficiency and productivity.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of technical issues, solutions, and user requests in a ticketing system.
  • Setup and Configuration: Install, configure, and set up new computer hardware, software, and peripheral equipment.
  • Network Support: Assist with network management tasks such as monitoring network performance, managing routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Security Management: Implement and enforce security policies, including password management, access controls, and data protection measures.
  • Remote Support: Provide remote troubleshooting and support via phone, email, or remote desktop tools.
  • Inventory Management: Keep track of IT equipment inventory and manage asset lifecycle, including procurement and disposal.
  • Collaboration: Work with internal departments and third-party vendors to ensure seamless integration and operation of IT systems.
  • Software Support: Assist with the installation, configuration, and support of enterprise applications and software.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor system performance and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Emergency Response: Respond promptly to IT emergencies, such as system outages or data breaches, and coordinate recovery efforts.
  • Customer Service: Maintain a high level of customer service by addressing user issues promptly and professionally.
  • Policy Implementation: Ensure compliance with organizational IT policies and procedures.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to enhance support capabilities.
  • Project Management: Assist and support with planning, execution and oversight of IT projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget while meeting quality standards.   
  • Other miscellaneous administrative duties as needed.

IT Specialist Requirements:

  • High school diploma.
  • Degree in computer science or a related field is preferable or 1-2 years of experience.
